치타(Acinonyx jubatus)는 중앙 및 남부 아프리카의 사바나와 마른 삼림 지대에 삽니다. 그들은 늘씬한 몸과 깊은 가슴, 가는 다리와 꼬리를 지녔으며 얼굴에는 검은색 '눈물 자국'이 있습니다. 하지만 치타의 가장 두드러지는 특징은 역시 그 점박이 무늬겠죠. 치타는 가장 빠른 육상 동물로 유명하며, 사냥감을 쫓을 때는 최대 112km/h로 달립니다. 치타의 사냥감은 일반적으로 가젤과 임팔라와 같은 중형 포유류입니다.
