스라소니(Lynx lynx)는 유럽과 아시아의 온대 또는 아한대 숲이나 산에 사는 중형 고양잇과 동물입니다. 두툼하고 다부진 몸에 큰 발을 가졌고, 짧은 꼬리와 촘촘한 털을 자랑하는 독특한 귀로 유명한 동물이기도 합니다. 몸 부분의 털 색깔은 크림색부터 황갈색까지 분포하고, 온몸에 검은 반점 무늬가 있습니다. 또한, 꼬리 끝과 귀의 털도 검은색입니다. 암수의 모습은 별 차이가 없지만, 수컷의 덩치가 조금 더 크고 체중은 확실히 더 무거운 편입니다. 수컷 스라소니의 몸무게는 20kg에서 최대 45kg까지 나가며, 머리부터 몸통까지의 길이는 98cm~109cm, 키는 어깨 높이에서 60cm~75cm입니다. 이에 비해 암컷의 몸무게는 18kg~25kg에 불과하며, 머리부터 몸통까지의 길이는 94cm~106cm, 키는 어깨 높이에서 54cm~68cm입니다. 짧은 꼬리의 길이는 암수 모두 11cm~24cm입니다.
