흑백목도리여우원숭이(Varecia variegata)는 마다가스카르의 동부 열대 우림 지역에 서식하는 영장류에 속합니다. 이름에서부터 알 수 있듯이 검은색과 흰색 털이 분명하게 구분되어 있습니다. 다리와 얼굴, 발, 꼬리는 검은색이며, 독특한 목 부위를 비롯하여 팔과 등 부위 역시 흰색을 띱니다. 흑백목도리여우원숭이의 몸길이는 50~55cm이며, 꼬리 길이는 60cm 정도입니다. 다른 여우원숭이들처럼 암컷의 덩치가 수컷보다 약간 더 큰 편입니다.
