우수리 승냥이는 승냥이의 아종으로 숲, 초원, 툰드라에 서식하며 인도, 네팔, 중국, 방글라데시, 미얀마, 태국 등지에서 발견되며, 그중 가장 큰 덩치를 자랑합니다. 그리고 전체적으로 붉은 털이 나 있지만 배 부분과 길쭉한 주둥이는 흰색을 띱니다. 여름과 겨울에 따라 털갈이를 하는데 겨울에 자라는 털이 좀 더 선명한 붉은색이고 더 굵은 편입니다. 머리부터 몸통까지의 길이가 88~113cm, 꼬리는 41~50cm이고 어깨높이는 45~55cm 수준입니다. 암수의 크기는 비슷하지만 암컷이 10~13kg 정도 나가는 반면, 수컷의 몸무게는 15~20kg로 암컷보다 훨씬 더 무겁습니다.
