딩고 (Canis lupus dingo)는 호주 전역에 서식하는 대표적인 갯과 동물입니다. 털은 대체로 황갈색을 띠며, 배 부분은 흰색을 띱니다. 뾰족한 귀와 길고 뭉툭한 주둥이를 지녔으며, 다소 마른 체격으로 평균 키는 52~60cm, 몸길이는 1.2~1.5m입니다. 몸무게는 14~19kg이며, 암컷보다 수컷의 크기가 더 큰 편입니다. 딩고는 기회주의적인 포식자일 뿐만이 아니라 청소 동물에도 속하기 때문에 포유류, 조류, 파충류, 썩은 고기부터 과일, 야채까지 가리지 않고 먹어 치웁니다.
