L'iguane vert (Iguana iguana) est une grande espèce de lézard qu'on rencontre dans toute l'Amérique centrale, le nord de l'Amérique du Sud et les Caraïbes. Doté d'une longue queue et d'une crête en dents de scie qui s'étend du sommet de sa tête à la base de son épine dorsale, il a des pattes musclées et de longs doigts terminés par de grandes griffes. Sa queue et son corps sont parfois striés.
