La scolopendre géante (Scolopendra gigantea) est un gros arthropode redoutable au comportement de prédateur. Elle est originaire des forêts d'Amérique du Sud et des Caraïbes. Capable d'attraper, d'empoisonner et de tuer de nombreux animaux, elle utilise des techniques spécifiques pour capturer ses proies. La scolopendre géante peut mesurer jusqu'à 30 cm de long et avoir des couleurs variées (rouge, jaune, marron ou noir) avec des pattes jaunes et des rayures noires entre les différents segments de son corps.
