L'oryx algazelle (Oryx dammah) est une antilope qui vivait dans le désert du Sahara et ses environs, en Afrique du Nord. La fourrure de cet animal est d'un blanc crémeux, avec des zones brun clair sur le cou, le poitrail et les pattes. Sa tête, quant à elle, est blanche avec des marques brunes. L'oryx algazelle se distingue par ses grandes cornes striées et incurvées vers l'arrière qui dépassent 1 m de long. Lui-même mesure entre 1,30 m et 2,40 m de long, pour une hauteur au garrot comprise entre 1 m et 1,30 m. Les mâles, légèrement plus grands et plus lourds, pèsent entre 140 et 210 kg, tandis que les femelles pèsent entre 90 et 140 kg.
