La iguana verde (Iguana iguana) es un gran lagarto que vive a lo largo y ancho de Centroamérica, el norte de Sudamérica y el Caribe. Tiene una larga cola y una cresta serrada que la recorre longitudinalmente, desde la cabeza hasta la base de la columna vertebral, además de patas musculosas con largos dedos y garras. También puede presentar estrías en su cola y cuerpo.
