Styxosaurus

Notable for its extended neck, Styxosaurus is a carnivorous plesiosaur from the late Cretaceous period that can grow up to 11m in length and feeds on fish, squid and other marine life. This genus has very sharp teeth and a powerful jaw, making it one of the most efficient predators of its time.

Barbaridactylus

Barbaridactylus is a medium-sized pterosaur that lived towards the end of the late Cretaceous period, around 66-72 million years ago. This genus is distinct from most other pterosaurs in that it is part of the nyctosaurid family, which rarely walked on land and was specially adapted for almost constant flight. It takes its name from the Barbary Coast of North Africa, near to where Barbaridactylus was discovered.

Australovenator

Australovenator is a bipedal theropod from the late Cretaceous period. Its name translates to ‘southern hunter’, in reference to its Australian habitat and carnivorous diet – Australovenator’s lightweight frame and serrated teeth are perfectly designed for stalking prey quickly and effectively. In fact, the palaeontologist who discovered the genus described it as ‘the cheetah of its time’ due to its speed, agility and predatory instincts.

Alamosaurus

Alamosaurus is one of the largest dinosaurs known to have existed, with adults growing to a length of 20-25m and weighing up to 80 tonnes. Native to North America during the late Cretaceous period, Alamosaurus is an herbivorous sauropod with armoured spikes on its back that protect it from predator attacks.
