As mentioned in October, our upcoming updates will be almost exclusively focused on addressing recent and longstanding issues and bugs. The next update will be our first step as part of that - and it will be coming towards the end of January.

The ancient generation ship, The Golconda, has been discovered drifting amidst the stars. Contact with the ship's living occupants has revealed that their ancestors chose to remain aboard their ship rather than colonise their original destination. The equipment originally intended for setting up a planetary settlement was cannibalised for materials but now... the Golconda's crew find themselves in need of outside assistance for the first time in a millennia.

The Elite Dangerous Halloween Sale is now on! 

To celebrate Halloween in 3305, not only will some of your spooky seasonal favourites be available, but we’re also knocking 25% off the ARX price of all Cockpit Customisation items. The Elite Dangerous Halloween Sale will be running from the 28 October until 4 November.

The September Update is live now!

"In October of 3302, the first set of Guardian Ruins was discovered by CMDR XDeath in the Synuefe XR-H D11-102 system, and inspired thousands of Commanders to head out into the black, searching for more information about the ancient alien race."

Three years later, we’ve discovered Guardian Structures and Beacons, we’ve worked alongside the Engineer, Ram Tah, to create weapons and modules, and we’ve even rediscovered the blueprints for ancient Guardian ships and pieced them together with our own ships to once again take them to the skies.

This brand new update features all of the following... and more!

Beginners Zone

A new collection of systems has been added for newly-created Commanders, and can only be accessed by pilots until they earn their first Combat, Trade or Exploration rank. In addition, the authorities here will provide simpler missions that even the smallest of Sidewinders can complete.

Across the galaxy, new Commanders will also have a reduced rebuy until they gain their first Combat, Trade or Exploration rank, a step in the path towards greatness!

With much anticipation, we’re pleased to announce that the beta for Chapter Four will be available to all PC Elite Dangerous and Elite Dangerous: Horizons players on Tuesday 30 October!

In order to focus the public testing on specific aspects of Chapter Four, we will be unlocking different content over a number of different weeks. You can find out the schedule that content will be added to the beta here:

At Gamescom we announced the key details on what’s coming to Elite Dangerous in the Beyond - Chapter Three update for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 28 August.

Beyond - Chapter Three is headlined by a new ship, a selection of sleek new Guardian Fighters, and some mysterious new Guardian Beacons hidden in the depths of the galaxy.
